Abstract
Supporting our project with the idea that everything can be reutilized, we came up with a strategy based on rehabilitation and reuse of materials and constructions (associating recycling with architecture). As a pre disaster measure we thought on the rehabilitation of the buildings. This has the purpose not only to reinforce their structure, but also to renew their life by giving them a new use.
Our first concern was the fast construction of the temporary accommodation, so that the population can return as soon as possible to their routine. In order to make possible this rapid recuperation, the city has to return to normality, whereby we propose the immediate cleaning of the streets. To speed this process we utilize the wreckage on the construction of the shelters giving use to this material that otherwise would be unutilized.
Our proposal includes a lifecycle to each material: we use only materials that are already manufactured and we suggest a reuse to them after they serve their purpose. This way we take the word sustainability to its limits, meaning, developing not only a sustainable architecture, but also a sustainable process.
