Abstract
This studio design project was part of an “architecture for Humanity” study which looked at turning shipping containers into practical and comfortable dwellings for people who have lost their homes in bush fires.

The aim is to provide not just temporary shacks containing the bare bones for survival, but a well designed, fire-resistant house that could easily become a permanent home. Although space limited, privacy and functionality have been well integrated, with separate spaces for cooking, sleeping and living, a pleasant outdoor area and protection from the harsh sun over the entire dwelling.
